Tenant Farmers are a rustic era polearm melee infantry unit.
In-Game Description[]
Tenant farmers are peasants bound to the lands of their overlords, and pay their rent in the form of labour, which includes serving in their lord's armies when called upon. Tenant Farmers have minimal combat potential against any unit stronger than basic militia, but are useful for freeing up better troops for more dangerous or important duties elsewhere on the battlefield, or to act as foragers and wagon drivers during expeditionary campaigns.
Acquisition[]
Tenant Farmers can be obtained for free from the Melee Infantry Unit Tree.

Tips & Trivia[]
- Tenant Farmers, like all rustic era units, deal almost no damage and will lose handily to almost all units in the game. They have some usefulness in battles by pushing siege towers & battering rams (although their capability in this is superseded by Martellatori).
- As Tenant Farmers do not have more labour than Serfs and open world warbands can take duplicates of the same unit, there is little point in using Tenant Farmers for labour.
- Tenant Farmers are available as a retinue for Chevaliers. It is not advised to use them in this role as they are extremely weak compared to other retinue options.
