Squires are a silver era buckler shield melee infantry unit.

In-Game Description[]

Every knight begins as a squire, serving as a personal servant to a more experienced warrior, and learning the skills necessary for a man-at-arms. Squires have good armour and weapons, and can function as mid-tier heavy infantry. They are ideal for storming battlements from ladders or a siege tower, perhaps opening the way for more valuable infantry units following them.

Acquisition[]

Squires can be unlocked from the Heraldic Units unit tree, where their node costs 7500 honour to unlock after prerequisites. This cost can be partially or fully defrayed using up to 20x Squire's Signaculum.

▲ [Melee Fighters] This unit is great in melee combat.
▲ [Assault Troops] This unit is best used to charge the enemy, as they will cause more damage while attacking.
[Shieldbearers] Ranged damage is reduced while unit is using shields.
