Spear Sergeants are a heroic era tower shield melee infantry unit.

In-Game Description

While Spear Sergeants are of common birth and thus ineligible to become knights, being granted a sergeancy by the leader of their Order is almost as great an honour. Spear Sergeants have superior armour and weapons to the Demesne Spearmen, and can form a near-unbreakable defence against enemy infantry and cavalry alike.

Acquisition

Spear Sergeants can be unlocked from the Heraldic Units unit tree, where their node costs 15000 honour to unlock after prerequisites. This cost can be partially or fully defrayed using up to 20x Spear Sergeant's Signaculum. Alternatively, they can be unlocked via the Season V: Legacy of Fire seasonal challenges, as the final reward of the 1st stage of the Symmachean Stalwarts challenges. As Symmachean Stalwarts are one of the season's heroic era units, the Zykalian Militia must be unlocked (i.e. stage 2 of the Zykalian Militia challenges completed) before progress can be made on their challenges.
