Pavise Crossbowmen are a golden era crossbowman ranged infantry unit.

In-Game Description

These troops are among the most well-paid of all the soldiers of fortune, and it shows in the money they invest in their equipment: Medium-strength armour, a heavy crossbow that can punch through mail, and a huge shield that gives the bearer cover while he reloads.

Acquisition

Pavise Crossbowmen can be unlocked via the Season III: Soldiers of Fortune seasonal challenges. As one of the season's golden era units, Pavise Crossbowmen require the Fortebraccio Pikemen to be unlocked (i.e. 3rd stage of the Fortebraccio Pikemen seasonal challenges completed) before progress can be made on their seasonal challenges. Alternatively, Pavise Crossbowmen can be unlocked in the Ranged Infantry unit tree where their node costs 25,000 honour before prerequisites; this cost can be partially or fully defrayed using up to 20x Pavise Crossbowman's Signaculum. If unlocked this way then their seasonal challenges will become available regardless of prerequisites.
