Laconic Javelins are a heroic era javelin melee infantry unit.

In-Game Description

The Perioikoi, who lived on the outskirts and coastal areas of the city- states, were different from the Spartans. Known for their skills as craftsmen and merchants, they preferred to fight in "smarter" ways compared to the honor-driven Spartans. Often serving as javelin throwers in the army, they provided cover for the Spartan warriors. As excellent craftsmen, they were incredibly strong and their meticulously crafted javelins were exceptionally sharp, capable of easily piercing through the enemy's heavy armor. Enemies who underestimated their combat capabilities due to their artisan status paid a heavy price. During the Battle of Thermopylae, they appeared on the battlefield as defenders of their homeland, fighting alongside the Spartan warriors. Their javelins, able to pierce through boulders, descended from the heavens to counter the Persian rain of arrows.

Acquisition

Laconic Javelins can be unlocked via the Sparta seasonal challenges. As the season's heroic era unit, Laconic Javelins require the Helot Auxilary to be unlocked (i.e. stage 2 of the Helot Auxilary seasonal challenges completed) before progress can be made on their seasonal challenges.

Throws a javelin to a very distant target point. The throw requires a long run-up to build momentum. The range and damage of the throw vary based on the time spent building momentum.
