Houndsmen are a golden era archer ranged infantry unit.

In-Game Description[ | ]

Many are the legends about the deep northern forests of Celtland. One of the most well-known is one where Wealish soldiers vanished without a trace. Before the revolt had begun, the Wealish often terrorized villages near the forests, and some made the mistake of entering. Those that did, were never seen again. A Wealish search party was sent to follow their tracks. And found something they did: the bloodied, mangled bodies of their former comrades. Their chests were riddled with arrows, and they had bite marks everywhere. The Celtlish who believed in Druidism claimed the Wealish had been punished by the spirits of the forest. Naturally, the Wealish didn't believe in such nonsense and scoured the forest for many an hour-finding nothing of note. Following this incident, the Wealish forbade their men from setting foot within the forest.

What transpired there remained in mystery until the war began. Bows at their backs, a group of hunters and their fierce hounds emerged from the forest hinterlands and joined the army against Wealish invaders. They were master marksmen who fought alongside their well-trained canine friends. They bring the Wealish nothing but pain and death.

Following the war, the historians later wrote about their exploits when recording down the events that transpired, and named them the Houndsmen.

Acquisition[ | ]

Houndsmen can be unlocked via the Season X: Highlanders seasonal challenges. As the season's golden era unit, Houndsmen require the Claymores to be unlocked (i.e. 3rd stage of the Claymores seasonal challenges completed) before progress can be made on their seasonal challenges.

Unit Traits[ | ]

Trait In-Game Description
▲ [Trained Hunters] Enemies hit will suffer bleeding for two seconds and will get the effect "Open Wound".
When a hound attacks an enemy with Open Wound, the effect will be changed to "Heavy Wound", increasing the rate at which Health is lost.
▲ [Loyal Hounds] The hunting hounds will attack any foe that attacks this unit. This reduces damage dealt by enemies as well as their their movement speed, and inflicts "Dogged" on them.
▲ [Man's Best Friend] Hounds have 4800 Health, a Speed of 13.5, 300 Piercing Damage, and 300 to all Defence values.

A hound and its master have a deep affinity for one another. When a hound attacks an enemy that has already been hit by a Houndsmen skill, the effect is strengthened. When all the Houndsmen are killed, the hounds will continue to surround and attack enemies for 5 seconds before dying.
