Coutiliers are cavalrymen of common birth, usually found in the service of minor nobles and robber-barons. They wear light armour and carry cheap lances. They are best suited for running down light infantry, but are vulnerable in melees against other cavalry or infantry armed with polearms.

Coutiliers can be obtained from the Cavalry unit tree, where their node costs 2000 honour to unlock after unlocking prerequisites. This cost can be partially or fully defrayed using up to 20x Coutilier's Signaculum.
