Claymores are a heroic era special melee infantry unit.

In-Game Description[ | ]

Celtland is famed for its spirits, ballads, and warriors. And the Claymores are considered the mightiest of their warriors. These stalwart fighters carry two- handed blades crafted by renowned swordsmiths and wield them with deadly ferocity.

These Claymores are most known for the Battle of Gallows Hill. At the time, the leader of the Celtlish revolt, Rupert, was being chased by Wealish soldiers as he hurried northward to request the aid of the tribes there. But the Wealish cavalry was hot on his heels and the situation was dire. A group of Claymores tasked with escorting Rupert volunteered to stay behind and buy him time enough to escape. They held the Wealish soldiers at bay for a whole hour, which was enough for Rupert to flee and request aid. When the reinforcements arrived, they were met with a nightmarish scene: the corpses of all the thirty Claymores, along with dead foes many times their numbers.

Henceforth, the Claymores' bravery and loyalty became known throughout Celtland and Wealand, the former hailing them as mighty warriors whereas the latter talked about them only in hushed whispers.

Acquisition[ | ]

Claymores can be unlocked via the Season X: Highlanders seasonal challenges. As the season's heroic era unit, Claymores require the Bagpipers to be unlocked (i.e. stage 2 of the Bagpipers seasonal challenges completed) before progress can be made on their seasonal challenges.

Unit Traits[ | ]

Trait In-Game Description
▲ [Battle-Happy] Each time a Claymore warrior attacks and hits an enemy, all defences are increased by 40 points. Stackable up to 5 times.
▲ [Fearless Heart] When the unit uses 'Highland Charge' or 'Claymore Strike', it will get a 'Fearless Heart' effect. For 5 seconds, it will ignore an extra 10% damage. Every time it attacks, it will restore 150 Health for itself and nearby allies. Stackable up to 5 times. Also reduces melee damage taken by 20% for 2 seconds for itself and nearby allies. This effect will become stronger when using 'For Freedom!', restoring 300 points of Health and reducing melee damage taken by 35%.
▲ [Unity] When Bagpipers use Segue, some negative effects of "For Freedom!" on Claymores will be cleared, leaving only these effects:

- Damage dealt reduced by 40%.
- Damage taken increased by 40%.
- Movement speed reduced by 50%.

▼ [Burns Out] 15 seconds after using "For Freedom!" the unit enters a weakened state for 10 seconds:

- Damage dealt reduced by 40%.
- Damage taken increased by 40%.
- Movement speed reduced by 50%.
- Attack speed reduced by 50%.
- Other skills cannot be used.

Claymore Strike

Base Cooldown: 30s

The warriors swing their sword, dealing damage to nearby enemies (with 'For Freedom!', enemies will be knocked back). The unit also obtains the 'Fearless Heart' effect.

For Freedom!
