Archer is a unit type in Conqueror's Blade.
Overview[]
Archer units are ranged infantry or cavalry equipped with bows and arrows. These troops are characterized by their low damage, paltry defenses, nonexistent block break, and inability to stop charging cavalry compared to other ranged types, but make up for it with their long range and ability to arc their missiles to strike at enemies hiding behind obstacles. Archers are divided into two archetypes: ranged infantry foot archers, and cavalry mounted archers, each with their own distinct available doctrines.
In general, ranged infantry archers are best used against enemy ranged units, as their low damage and inability to stop melee infantry and cavalry can make them into a liability when deployed against such units. Players should be careful about deploying them so that the team does not lack upfront offensive strength and defensive capabilities. Cavalry archers tend to be highly niche, with even lower ranged damage owing to their generally lower headcount but with high speed and the ability to run down fleeing enemies.
